Retreat Centre Halscheid

Mahakala-tage-098
Karma Tekchen Yi Ong Ling is a retreat centre for study and practice of buddhist meditation in the way it is taught in the Karma Kagyu school. In his role as the spiritual leader  of the Trust and this centre, H.H. Karmapa Orgyen Trinley Dorje named it Karma Tekchen Yi Ong Ling, a “Mahayana Buddhist place of the Karma Kagyu tradition, where the wishes of the mind will spontaneously be fulfilled”.
At the end of March 2007, the first Three-Year-Retreat, which took place under the supervision of the Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, and was guided by Lama Kunga Dorje, came to a conclusion here.Thrangu Rinpoche was very pleased with the course of the retreat. He therefore requested us to further make use of the centre for the intensive traditional practice of Three-Year-Retreats.Therefore, on November 1st 2007, on the highest holiday of the Tibetan calendar, the second Three-Year Retreat started. At the request of Lama Kunga, three participants of the previous retreat (Ani Drönma, Ani Wangmo and Gerlinde Lunz) are assisting in looking after the new retreatants and are taking on organisational tasks.
Thrangu Rinpoche wrote:
„ A Three-Year-Retreat is of great benefit for the participants themselves, but also for others and for the whole world, because such a practice is spreading peace and leading to happiness.”
Since we practice the pujas of Tara, Medicine Buddha, Mahakala and others on a daily basis in the retreat centre, there is an opportunity to send us names of people in difficult situations as well as of deceased. They will be included in the protection and benefit of the practice.
